Preventive Medicine
At Bay City Animal Hospital, we're committed to helping you keep your pet healthy and happy. Preventive medicine starts with a physical exam. Book your pet for an annual check up, which includes:
- A thorough examination of your pet's eyes, ears, teeth and gums, lungs, heart and abdomen to detect any potential health issues early on
- Vaccinations: Protect your pet from serious illnesses with our up-to-date vaccination protocols
- Parasite Prevention: Keep the creepy crawlies - inside and out - far away from your beloved furry friend.
- Comprehensive Bloodwork Profile: For pet owners who wish to go the extra mile for peace of mind, our in-house blood tests are ready in less than 15 minutes! Receive a full breakdown of how your pets vital organs - such as the kidney and liver - are functioning.

We are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools to help us accurately diagnose and treat your pet's health issues. Our services include:
- Digital Radiographs (X-rays): to diagnose internal injuries or conditions

Dentistry Services
A healthy mouth and beautiful smile starts with a physical examination. During a dental consult, the doctor will provide a plan that includes: a Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatment (COHAT)
What is a COHAT?
Because dogs and cats don't open their mouths and say "ahhh", they need to be under general anesthesia for their dental procedures. During the procedure, we will perform:
- A thorough examination and assessment
- Full mouth digital x-rays to determine root health
- Scaling and polishing to remove tarter and plaque
- Extractions for teeth that are diseased or infected
- Chlorhexidine rinse to reduce bacteria and promote healing

Exotic Pet Care
Understanding your exotic pet
Unlike dogs, who may show visible symptoms of illness, your exotic pet will often hide their symptoms. This is an instinctual method meant to conceal signs of weakness from potential predators. If you see a change in your pet’s behavior or suspect that they are acting abnormally, we recommend giving us a call for further direction. Having worked with many species of exotic pets, we know what signs of an illness can be.
The species we provide care for include:
-
Rabbits
-
Rats
- Hamsters
- Guinea Pigs
- Hedgehogs
- Ferrets
- Geckos
- Bearded Dragons
- Iguanas
- Snakes
- Turtles
- Axolotls
**Please note: we DO NOT provide veterinary services for BIRDS
